View on Waiheke Island

Kia ora folks!

A sign of life of me on TL. Have a great time in NZ together with several Trekieslike Janice and Dawn this week and Next week I'm catching up with Sweety and Peter.

Well yesterday I sailed to Waiheke island with is situated in the Hauraki Gulf. Perfect weather and I first took a bus ride over the island, saw the awesome views, but wasn't able to get of for some pictures. So decided to get a taxi who brought me to several awesome viewing points on the island.

Wel this here is Palm beach, one of the many beaches on Waiheke. I enjoyed the view, I hope you too and if not tell me what is wrong and how to improve!

PP work: Slight crop, adjusted contrast, brightness and colours. Resized and add frame.

Certainly a well composed and lovely view, big fella, and delighted to see a shot from you on your travels.

Have to say I think there's a touch of "punch" lacking here, almost as though the circular polarizer wasn't doing it's job. Are you editing these on a laptop..?

Still, a very nice view and I envy you an your travels down there!

Hi Hans,

Beautiful place and nice angle capturing from this place . .
Seems weather is perfect . .
Well composed my friend

Tfs,
Tjutjut

groetjes, willemien

Hola amigo,
serena vista,
agradable pov y composición,
buenos colores y encuadre...
saludos Hans.

Nice landscape Hans... It is indeed a beautiful island - some time ago I spent the morning there (between flights) and walked from the ferry to town and then back around the headland to the fery.. Took a couple of years but what a walk, I'll have to go and find my long ago archives..Anyway - back to the pic.. I think KA's said what I would have said. The sky could be a little more dramatic. If the CP's not doing it's job then maybe a slight burn of the sky would help.. Otherwise nice and sharp, well balanced composition.

Cheers
DAvid

Nice veiw Hans, I'm glad you had a nice day on Waiheke. They say Waiheke has it's own micro-climate, usually about 2ºC warmer than the city.
I spent a few happy weekends at Palm beach as a single lad.
Although the sky is a little hazy, Coromandel Peninsular can be seen in the distance.
Marilyn and I hope to take you there on the 31st.
Cheers,
Pete.

Goede morgen vanuit hier, Hans.
Stunning natural colours and landscape view, but, Have to say as I do so many times, Careful with sharpening when many leaves (small objects) are in a picture. For me, it looks always as oversharped, which is unnatural.
Maybe you didn't noticed it on a laptop, but it not been in level of the sea horizon is like a 'beginners' fault, right ?
Enjoy your journey.
Groeten uit een 'warm', 9 graden Holland.

Now I am on my upstairs main computer.. I wanted to see how this looked on here, as it did look a little different on MY laptop.

I think what you have here is a bit of a hazy day Hans, we are getting many of late! which seems to dull the sky somewhat, and of course these are the natural New Zealand colours overall. Your composition here is very very nice..great spot you stopped at here Hans..Im so glad you got to go with this guy.. for a special tour around Waiheke.

Well done.

I am GREEN with envy! What a shot, what a place to be at Christmas! Can you swim here? Any sharks? This is beautiful work Hansie! Can't wait to see more from you! The only improvement I can see is that the horizon line needs to be straight and I agree with Richard, a punch is needed! I also see a teenie bit of OE in the clouds to the right, Will try to fix! I will also do WS, but can't post until tomorrow...already did 2 today! Will send on email!

Hi Han, Good very true colours and the use of foreground bush foliage works well. This looks like a calendar photograph, you may be able to sell them as you see with fresh eyes. Beautiful job. Murray.
