[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The old silos at the Tank Farm, Viaduct Harbour are being renovated.
Most of the oil storage silos have gone.
Those remaining are being changed to exhibition halls and observation towers.
Originally shot in colour, but the drab olive colour is hardly photogenic.

Peter

I like this use of b&w and the pov also which makes a strange atmosphere.
Very good observation of the shadows too.
Perfect diagonal for the stairs.
So Artistic contribution for the theme.

Hello David

This is one of my favorites so far for the theme. Love the diagonal lines created by the stairs. The long shadows complete the image nicely. nice

Jimmy

Hi Peter,
An artistic presentation of this steel staircase crossing diagonally and leaving such a reflection on the wall.
A great B&W presentation with splendid contrast and a pleasant play with light and shadows.
Very neat work enclosed in this white frame.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello Peter, you have captured a lovely play of the light, shining through the open slatted stairs and creating those interesting shadows.
The stairs cut the shot in half with the texture of the silo on one side and the dense black of the shadows on the other. The b/w works very well here, and I guess it becomes more dramatic for the lack of colour?
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Peter
Perfect composition, very artistic and full of mood... Excellent the way you've the lines of light through the steps adding thickness to the photo.
Very good work.

Bonjour Peter,

Thank you for your contribution. Very minimalist atmosphere, hence the stairs becoming so eye-catching.
A good work, as always.

Damien.
