Forever Summer

Just for all you Northern Hemisphere friends, this is what it is like in FIJI, practically every day, all year round.

This was taken when I was on holiday last August in Fiji.

Don’t you just love the view from the lookout hill on Mana Island, in the Fiji Islands? Here you can see the changing colours of the darker Pacific Ocean and the lighter, greener waters of the lagoon within the coral reef. As you can see the weather was perfect, sun all day, no clouds, hot, with a slight cooling breeze. P E R F E C T!!!

Castaway Island is in the distance. It is another superb place to have a holiday. Many years back we took our two youngest on holiday there and had an unforgettable time. Back in those days there was a bargain price offered - $1 per year in age, so it cost us $25 to fly them both up with us and stay in a bure together. We paid extra for their food, but it was a price we couldn’t turn down – and we ALL still talk about that holiday.

Fiji enjoys a warm and pleasant temperature throughout the year - average 72°F / 22Cin the mild, dry season of May through October, and 78.5°F / 26C in the warm, wetter season of November through April. Dress for Fiji is cool and casual.

Area Covered:
Latitude: 12°-21°S
Longitude: 176°E-178°W.

wow. the beach is amazing!

Before I go to see King Kong. I had a last surf through recent additions.
Yeah! This is what we want. Those Candaians are suffering, aren't they. Those Europeans are having a tough time, No?
This one has perfect horizon and colour and the local stroller adds that final necessary element.
Happy Daze!

hi janice
thanks for this, just what us 'northerners' need to see on another cold december morning lol. it looks lovely, when's my next flight?
good composition, split into 3rds of land, sea and sky, lovely colours, especially the sea.

Hi Jancie,
looking out of the window here this morning, this picture makes me envious ... one can feel the temperature ihn the scene you show here, a nice shot, but still, it makes me envious!
Greetings from the cold

Janice you are so lucky .. In country side shots we are all depending of what we 'shoot' with our camera
in where we are on this planet and you (plus Dawn and David) are so blessed. Good photo. TFS

Great conposition, lush vegetation! And the sea with the different shades of blue... just awesome! I like the way you include the woman lower left corner... All over good colours and details
Pablo -

I miss my country when I look at this picture. Lucky for Kit and Janice to experienced this landscape scene whenever they want to.

I learned something from this image, including a human element in a landscape scene is sometimes necessary. Good composition Janice and of course the colors.

Now that is downright nasty Janice :), I like it though.
Wonderful photo, excellent POV. Three or four shades of blue with the sky and the sea and the lush vegetation with untold colours. TFS

Hi Janice

Another tropical landscape, complete with coconut palms. I like the azure color of the sea. Good work!

Good photo, good use of the area all photographic rules are applied. And than comes the but. As all painters say now painting is finessed without a good frame.
The sea flows in the frame line. A thin white line will fines it.

Well Janice, thanks for thinking of us northerners ;o). A very teasing image, I admit... weather over here was all dull & grey, mostly dry, but with a chilling continuous wind. Looking at your shot warms me up... many TFS.

Hi janice ,

i like summer.good colors and composition. Thanks for your beautiful picture.

This is a sight for sore eyes! I just got the cold that's working slowly to becoming a flu. This looks like a nice place for a couple of weeks of sick leave (convalescence leave - I like this expression :) just picked it up). I'll run the idea by my boss and see what he makes of it:)
Thank you

Great Picture! The color of the water is incredible!Seems like a beautiful place to live...
Thanks for bringing summer back for a couple of minutes!
