[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We have started getting the odd visitor again after so long without a sign of the regulars. Late one afternoon this young Kookaburra came straight in to sit by the back door..He was ducking in and out of one of the palms in the corner of the yard as the crows were hanging around.(theres a private school over the road and when theyre on holidays the crows come around our bins instead). This shot was while he was sitting on the top of the back fence with the afternoon sun off to his right and behind..I know I lost a couple of feathers on the tuft but it was either that or lose his face in the shadows.

Scruffy little bloke eh Fionha?

Cute pose, well captured with very good detail, well done.

Hi Fiona

What I like particularly about this is the side lighting, it adds life to the image. That eye is beautifully clear and sharp. I'm not concerned about the overexposure. To be honest, I never noticed, I just kept looking at his eye.

Hello Fiona, a great close up of the Kookaburra. The light in its eyes is amazing!
Such wonderful sharpness on its feathers too, good work.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Fiona,
Great angle with those inquisitive beady eyes peering at you. The delicate feathers and its natural patterns are well shown.

Bom dia Fiona,
Marvelous shot. Impressive sharpness and lighting.
Nice, very nice.
