[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was supposed to have been taken on New Years Day as the first of the year, but a stinking hot day with total cloud cover spoiled those plans. Wednesday started out another stinker but no clouds so I was thinking still no sunset up the mountain, its a waste of petrol without some clouds. By lunchtime some had rolled in so off we went. Theres also an orange glow across the lower half due to a light layer of smoke clouds.Nothing done except resizing.

Ciao Fiona, fascinating composition with superb sky, fantastic warm colors and splendid light, very well done, my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Love these type of shots, Fiona.

Always so striking, and when images as good as this are produced, I can't help opening and admiring.
Excellent cloud formations, and the varied colours from orange to blue are gorgeous. The sun rays bursting through the shot are magnificent.

A very "clean" shot, no noise or grain and with perfect exposure. The capture of the sun in all its glory is a nice touch too. Some may have waited for it to disappear behind a cloud, or changed their position/composition to hide it, but nah….I like this one as it is.

Hi Fiona.

One of the most striking sky scenes posted for some time, the amount of cloud coupled with the lines of light screaming across the sky, creates this masterpiece. Golden tones galore.

Stv ;0))

It doesn't matter if it's late, it's beautiful! Love the warm golden colors of this sunrise. Nicely framed with good dof with nice details. WEll done, tfs.

Well worth the trip Fiona, well seen and well presented.

I hope you are dodging the worst of the heat wave.

25C here today...hot enough for us.

Happy 2013,
