[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This started as one of those shots that wasnt quite right but not bad enough to throw away. We were camped out in the corner between the open beach and the rocks on the headland, and kept getting these waves come in to the little hollow and then crash. It was early morning (8:10AM) and still looking straight into the sun so I got quite a bit of shadow on the boys. Decided to play with it and ended up changing to b&w, upping the contrast and shadows so the boys were almost complete silhouette.

nice shot
good waves
and good use of b/w in the photo
well done

Hi Fiona,
Good choice to turn this into black and white. It give a kind of restfull image to the eyes. I like the shadows on the boys as they are not completely back and still show some texture and levels of darkness. The frozen wave almost looks surreal as it is so big in comparison with your little one. I am sure the perspective is also created by the use of your focal length.

Niek

Hi Fiona,
Beautiful semi-silhouetted figures in the FG contrasting splendidly with the huge wave. You created a sort of perspective converting this presentation in B&W.
Well done for this neat work.
