Those yellow boards(for Jimmy)
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Jimmy had some fun with a mature aged surfer recently, with a yellow board. Being early morning when we were there,(7:52AM) the sun seemed to catch this board more than the white ones.|
I dont have Photoshop but have the free version of Gimp, so I made a second layer, desaturated the top layer, erased just the yellow board and then increased the contrast a little more than I normally would. Then just merged and flattened the two layers and resized in Photofiltre.(still have trouble with some of the extra fancy bits in gimp, its easier to do the simple stuff in photofiltre or photscape.)

Nice touch with the editing on this one and am sure Jimmy will appreciate the dedication. I like the mix of tones giving the board a worthy focal point.
See you next year.

Very nice composed photo in action, also I like that you've created BW with leaving just yellow board in colour - it is catching an eye that way.
Amazing PP work and the partial desaturation worked very well here, Fiona!
Great action shot with amazing light and exposure.
DOF is excellent and contrasts are well kept.
Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!
Took me long enough. I found this image by accident. Silly me. Thanks for the image of contrast. My favorite thing to do with images. Now if I could only surf.......Fat guys on boards make for great comedy. Thanks again Wacky.
