Paul and I spent our second wedding anniversary in the Hunter Valley wine region, NSW. Upon arrival I had to make a pit-stop at Froggies Patisserie to pick up this delicious treat. Many of the self-contained cabins in the Hunter Valley are on winery estates and so here I was also sampling a glass of the home-produced Chardonnay.
I originally composed this picture to include the wine bottle but it looked far too busy. After much trial and error I then realised that I needed only one hero in the photo - so I chose the cupcake. Natural light came from a glass door to the left. I wished though that I had a white wall or backdrop as the photo still seems too dark to me somehow. |

Nice composition, I like the sweetness of the atmosphere.
The vertical format is fine, the cup cake lacks a bit of sharpness I think, but what I like is the glass in the background which gives an interesting scale of magnitude. Good dof and excellent balance.
Pretty work with warm tones, congratulations for your anniversary.
