noisy night life
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|There were plenty of these Curlews on Long Island when we were last there. Dont know about since Cyclone Yaris. They were mostly around in the evenings and were a major pain at night when they would all hang around the tubs of water outside the rooms for washing sand off your feet. They get a bit territorial and make one hell of a racket at about 1am.|

Very good presentation, a bit more from contrast would be good. Good exposure and soft light. Superb eye and regard.
I like your composition of this little bird. You have kept detail in the foreground whilst blurring the background nicely. The only thing lacking I feel is a little sharpness and contrast. I hope you don't mind but I have done a workshop to try to add some back in. This doesn't in any way change your lovely composition.
Fiona this is a nice shot of a cute subject. I agree that a little sharper and more contrast would enhance this beautiful bird, but I also know how difficult that is to achieve sometimes and I think this is beautiful as is in its natural presentation. TFS, Lori

I like your chosen angle for shooting this Curlew, makes for a more vibrant image than one shot from standing above it.The image is not in a competion I know ,but I personally would have liked to have seen the whole bird in your composition, you just cropped out its feet to much. I like the softness of the feathers & of its colors,& the catch light you captured in its eye.
