An aerial shot of Uluru (formerly Ayer's Rock) in Central Australia. Taken from a helicoptor. From Wikipedia:

"Uluru, also referred to as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation in the south western part of the Northern Territory, central Australia. It lies 335 km (208 mi) south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs; 450 km (280 mi) by road. Kata Tjuta and Uluru are the two major features of the Uluru-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara tribes, the indigenous Aboriginal people of the area. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site."

HI Chris...nice shot of this amazing place...well composed with excellent light and tones.

Roger

A great aerial POV for this magnificient rock jutting out of the ground. The cool blue colors of the sky contrast with the warm earth tones of the rock formation. Composition and clarity also helps to make this a beautiful post card. Cheers.

Nice shot of Ayer's Rock! Good colour contrast of the red sand and deep blue sky. I climbed this in 1984 on a freezing July morning - fantastic view of Mt Conner and the Olgas from the top ;-)

I see you've gone digital...

Hi Chris, Excellent aerial view with realistic colours. It is certainly a good way to see the geological feature to show it as an whole. Very effective view. I've only seen this from 10000m so much better close up like this. TFS. Murray.

Ciao Chris

Beautiful aerial view of the Plateau!
The size of the mountain is so big that
vegetation is so small, like bushes!
Sharpness and clarity are fantastic.
Nice composition, good exposure, perfect done,
Greetings,

Hi Chris,

The aerial point of view is showing the details and colors of Uluru or Ayer's Rock. It is also sending my eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. The quality of the light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,

Your shot emphasises so clearly how this dramatic rock stands out from its environment. It is like some gigantic foot that has been placed there! No wonder it was deemed a spiritual place!
Great thirds composition and fine clarity.

My best wishes for a Happy Christmas,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris

I did not know that water was so plentiful in this area. Very strange for a formation out in the middle of nowhere. Awesome capture from the air. I like it.

Bonjour Chris,
