Testing the New Camera
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Paul and I got each other a Canon 1000D for Christmas and it came with an 18-55mm lens with image stabilisation. Took this picture of a rose in my mother's garden and followed advice from previous pictures to use f-stops of about f/7 for flowers. There was high sunlight so I was able to use high shutter speed. Post-processed in photoshop and only adjusted contrast. Any feedback or advice for the 1000D is welcome! Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.|

dear Roxanne and Paul,
a very nice result of your new camera and lens testing.
the delicate feeling of the rose is well expressed in it.
light condition and depth are beautiful.
in my feeling, please try ISO-100 setting in bright condition like this.
perhaps a little more settled feeling you will get.
Pour un début, c'est fantastique. J'aime beaucoup le contraste de cette rose avec l'arrière-plan foncé. Bravo, il faut continuer.
For a beginning, it is fantastic. I like much the contrast of this pink with the dark background. Cheer, it is necessary to continue.
if this just you practicing cant wait to see your work when you master your new camera this is a awsome shot well done

Hi Paul and Roxy,
a very lovely shot of this rose. the blurry background makes this shot beautiful and attractive.Clarity and light play give a good visual effect. I really like the drops of water on the petal, its classical.
Well composed shot.
