[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When I posted this shot I mentioned that the Port Authority had been removing some of the old mooring posts, in actual fact it was the Tamar Yacht Club in conjunction with the City Council carrying out the work.

No more will I be taking shots which include the posts seen here or the boats which once tied up in the middle of the estuary. Some posts still remain but only along the fringes of the estuary. I do however have many shots such as this taken over the last couple of years which I can still share. Needless to say the view from the spot I took this shot is now very boring.

PP Work...Smart photo fix, adjusted saturation (20 and lightness (-4), adjusted levels, digital camera noise removal (noise 50, blend 70. Carried out chromatic aberration removal to get rid of different coloured ghosting around the posts and the boats, cropped, added border and resized.

We all live under the same sky, but we don't see the same horizon.

Beautiful view. It is sad that it will be changing, but it is good you have it for eternity. I love the misty look and the perfect colour and detail. As always, well seen, well presented. TFS

Sitting staring at the shots like this and trying to pick up the waterline on the posts, keeps me in one place for ages. Another beautiful job and thanks so much for sharing them with those of us not lucky enough to see this first hand.

Beautiful image in your personal style, David. I really hope that they will not remove the fog and tranquil waters and you will keep taking great pictures of them. Else, I will miss some of your horizons...

Hi David,
I hope you find another spot to shoot your marvellous foggy scenes. We will all miss them if you don't.
The boat on the right looks as if she has never left the mooring since day one.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hi David,
An what can i say...another great capture. That water is so calm. Feel so relaxed by just looking at this photo. Glad to know that you have shots from here stocked up. Well done.

Yet another excellent foggy capture.
Excellent PP work to retrieve the details.

And do you know why they removed the posts? Did any accident happen with speed boats with drunken drivers?

TFS
Pierre

Hi David,

Foggy and reflections . . These are your specialities, and you did consistently great . .
Lovely scene and feel that I am there . .
I like your note and the quote . .

Hi David,
Well I guess the times they are changing, I'm guessing this change will make way from something new! I really like the look of the old moorings in the water. This is a great photo , I like the mistiness in the air, that guy needs to wash his sailboat though..:o) TFS

Hi David,
We will miss these posts in your posts, but I imagine that something else will catch your eye . . .
I like the bouy in the foreground, and the details on the moldy boat behind it. There's such a calmness to this spot, muted by the forever fog.
Thanks for sharing,
Karen

Hello David,
Time change the scenery... or rather the Port Authority!
You should tell them you made the posts famous worldwide through your photographs, and as such should remain where they are...
Good winter/ autumn atmosphere, a well composed presentation!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello David.
What a shame. They were a real feature of this area and of course of your great images. I'm glad you still have many to share. This is the great thing about photography. To capture places that disappear. Many old buildings here in Romania are disappearing also as the country modernises. This is another lovely, moody, misty scene of yours which I always enjoy seeing. Well done once again. Best wishes from Transilvania on Halloween.
Regards, Steve.

Hi David,
Great picture,nice composition.
Abracos,
Ralf

hi david, nice quiet mood created here, looks very peaceful, well done, thanks scott

The bg is like a soft watercolor, wet-in-wet painting! Too bad this scene will not be seen anymore. Was there a particular reason for removing the mooring posts (other than to annoy you?)
Cheers

Hello David,

I'm glad you have defied the Authority by storing up shots which you will be able to share with us for many moons! I'm sure they will give us as much pleasure as this one! I always feel calm and relaxed after I have studied your water shots! I'm sure they would have a greater effect than valium!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
p.s. Who's the guy on your intro?

Hello David,

I will feel the lack of these beautiful post a lot, it felt so well looking at these beautiful landscapes so well done and taken care by you, Relics of a lake.
But I am sure that in his database you should still have many beautiful that it had given a present us more the front.
Beautiful visual, I always tell you, I feel home seeing these post!
Congratulations

SÚrgio

Hey Merl,
I really like your water shots! the fog is always so nice. Someday, soon, I will get a fog pic and post it for you! I got a couple of good ones this weekend......

Hi David. Another fine composition of this misty river with yachts moored. It is quite timeless the way you present it. I enjoy these shots of your area. TFS. Murray

Whether we like it or not, so many thing around us changing even if we do not like.. at least, Tassie is experiencing the slowest change in Aus. Beautiful place and a great shot, thanks David

Hi David,

Yes, I try to picture this composition without the mooring posts and I have to agree that it would become pretty dull... Nice greyish composition. Heavy sky, pleasant depth still to it. Nice.

Greetings,
Dennis

NB: Any good reason why they take away the mooring posts??

Wow, great and beautiful shot.
Regards Frans
