The Tamar River in northern Tasmania is formed by the merging of the North Esk River and South Esk Rivers in Launceston. Named for the River Tamar in Great Britain, the Tamar flows north for approximately 70 km into Bass Strait at Port Dalrymple. Despite its name, the river is not technically a river but is estuarine. It is saline and tidal over its entire length.

jaco

hi David,
brilliant monochromatic photograph. Excellent texture, focus, compo and range of tones.
Regards, Daniel.

Hi David,
I find the most beautiful part of this photo the rust that has flown of the metal bars screwed in the wood. It shows that boats need a lot of maintanance to stay in perfect conditions. Great colors and details are show as well, especially in the bottom part.
TFS,
Niek

I really like this david...although ,somehow, I keep wanting ot take so much white away from the top part.. a bit distracting? to me..but...I still love it!tahnk you..I alos appreciated your notes! meagan

Great colours and textures. Many different diagonals and streaps of colour broken by the rusty anchor and ropes.
Well done!
Best regards.
Jacobo

I ran into this wonderful picture on several occasions, finally I have points left to give.
Great close-up to go with all your other nautical themes. I love the textures of the hull, peeling paint, rusty anchor, all shown in great detail. Would make a very nice art poster.
Cheers
Otto
