Another day in the smoke
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|After almost 3 wks of burnoffs this is starting to get old...We have escaped the worst of it until this week when they decided to do the large area between Hinze Dam and the back of the neighbouring suburbs..The lower half of this is fog in the gully, the rest is smoke.Yesterday the wind picked up and blew it all South of us,last night no wind and back it came..With one on the nebuliser morning and night its starting to get rather annoying..Will post a shot of some buildings near home in a ws.It was taken yesterday when most of the smoke had lifted.Normally I can see the windows on it.|

Hi, Fiona. Thanks for posting this photograph and also it seems like the worst is over for the smoke nuisance. I'm glad the wind is helping you out. Nice composition with the setting sun, smoke and fog. The buildings look like sentinels standing guard. Cheers.
A beautiful scene. Love the clouds scudding past the sun, which is balanced by the flock of birds on the left. Beautiful colours, but perhaps some of the sky could have been removed. Just a thought.
Hello Fiona, dramatic skies but at what cost to everyone's health!
Why do they do it?
Thanks for the picture in the w/s which really does give an idea of the pollution.
I like the composition.
