Rolling up and over

|This is why the old Pentax still has batteries in it...It lives in the bedroom ready for mornings that are worth a trip out on the balcony before the fog lifts..|
Funny that I just saw Jimmy's one sending the sun down here... Somebody will disagree but I decided to leave the tree over the top.

Wow! Love the mood created by the mist and the rising sun as well as the different layers of colors. Good details. Well done, tfs.

No doubt someone will disagree Fiona, it's all a matter of personal taste, but I wont be one of them, I like that you chose to use the tree branch to frame this rising sun, for me it balances so well with the lower silhouetted trees. You really nailed this, with its ball of fire & catching the morning fog hanging among the trees, there is a nice mood to this scene, must have made your coffee taste really good while viewing this scene,:-)...Ron
Hello Fiona, you have a good high PoV from your bedroom!
I love all the different layers created by the fog that gives us the various densities of light and dark.
The overhead foliage makes a fitting frame balancing the picture for me.
Tfs, regards Jean.

I don't disagree with the branches placement in principle, because these elements provide good framing, but I only wish they were more in focus, that would be truly amazing.
As for the image in general, I really love it: the sun peaking through that structure, that uncanny shape, the mist perceived as layers through the tree lines, the cables... so moody and peaceful. Inspiring.
Thank you for sharing,
HI Fiona...beautiful colors and tones....very well composed...nice work.
A lot of layers of color here. The city's skyline really adds to the image. nice work on this one.
