[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was on a New Year sunrise nature hike and tried a direct shot of the sun because the backlighting seemed interesting. This is exactly what the camera gave me. Maybe it would be better with some photoshopping but this seemed a bit unusual and unique as it is. It was 5 degrees fahrenheit (-15 celsius).

Hi Jim,
that bright sun is a bit sore on the eyes but I really like the misty foreground, hope you don't mind but I have done a WS -just for fun :)

You created a very moody picture which shows the cold morning mist on the water. I like the mono colour palette. I think the lens glare is unfortunate - not sure if this could have been prevented by a lens hood as the shot was directly into the sun.
I find the very bright sun distracting and not adding anything to the photo. Maybe if it was not placed in the centre of the photo you could get away with it.

Hi Jim

Great backlighting with moody mist but I agree with the previous two, the sun is distracting.

Superb atmosphere with the lighting, special moment.
This sun disturbs and fascinates me at the same time. I like this scene.

Hi Jim,
This presentation leaves a lot open to the imagination, and a great result with the bright ball of light, could be a early century painting, well captured.

Dear Jim,
nice sunrise, nice idea, nice take.
What about my workshop?

Hello Jim,

It's a lovely catch of the 2016. Misty atmosphere is looking awesome. Bronze hue is looking awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards.

Olá Jim
There are two things that impress me vividly: the upward POV and a well captured depth.
My welcome to you.
