Time travel - wouldn't it be amazing?

Next time I'm in a metro station I'll make sure to have my tripod along, luckily we had to wait for a few trains so I was able to get at-least 1 fairly steady shot!

The movement captured in this shot was just begging to be edited to look a little sci-fi... Reminds me of my favourite character in A. Niffenegger's novel - The Time Traveler's Wife

“When I am out there, in time, I am inverted, changed into a desperate version of myself. I become a thief, a vagrant, an animal who runs and hides. I startle old women and amaze children. I am a trick, an illusion of the highest order, so incredible that I am actually true.”

PP: mask, desaturate, boost reds, sharpen, add noise, crop etc..

Oh and I must say - Washington DC was a total surprise to me, such a delightful city - full of history and charm, can't wait to see it again!

BLR,

Your angular POV of the subway tunnel creates already creates a sense of movement, added to this the actual subway train properly blurred into the image. The mix of color and monochrome works well here.

Happy New Year

Cool photo. This is how I remember Washington DC. Except from the University sport fields, the hotel and my first car crash.
I like the partial desaturation contrasting with the red colored movement. The grain adds a lot to the overal presentation of the photo.
And yup, always bring your tripod. It is the most important tool you can have. :)
TFS,
Niek

I like the lines of the roof, the hot colours and the dynamic effect of the blur metro, and the reflexion of the roof on the windows !
Kind regards
Jean
