[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is definitely a decisive moment since as far as I know it is totally illegal to fly under the Golden Gate Bridge!

I was photographing the bridge and the fog when this helicopter flew under then over the top of the structure.

Conversion to black and white with NIK's Silver Efex Pro with some increase in Structure and selective sharpening of the helicopter. This is a fused combination of three shots. The helicopter was "deghosted".

A decisive moment indeed Roger,an excellent ghosting procedure.
A very moody image,we don't quite get the fog that heavy up here in Vancouver, would like to be able to view your color version,to compare the mood.I like how the fog engulfs part of the G.G. Bridge. Sharp details.

Beautifull image, good range of tones and good medium contrast...strong blacks..love that!!

Well balance composition. The placement of the helicopter, is a very strategic one.. Hard to talk about composition...don't you find? Just a matter of visuel impact, which this one got.

Oops, great title, Roger, because what you gives to us is a gothic scene, which could well be one of those films of tension and panic that is one of the greatest inventions of the American cinema. And the composition is admirable, it is a feeling that something will happens...
Great image.

very decisive moment you capture with great sharpness and composition.

Hi Roger,
This feels like a drawing, could be a panel from one of the 50's Marvel comic books! So where is Spiderman hanging from???

This is something that I wish I could have taken. Well done.

What an amazing capture of Golden gate bridge with amazing mood and drama, Roger!

Great moment you have caught in this scene.
The B/W tones make this work even more pleasing to see.
Great sharpness and nice clarity where the helicopter adds good sense of scale in the picture.
Nice job!

Kind regards,

Hi Roger,
Perfect timing and such a superb composition with this landscape shot. I like the softness with such thick fog covering the Golden Gate Bridge and capturing this risky mission from behalf of the helicopter!
Good B&W documentary photography.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Roger,

Nice shot - right place at the right time for this one. Great management of the image, looks brilliant in B&W with nice sharp crisp helicopter. Great shot.

Best wishes

Awesome moment indeed not only for the heli but also for the whole scene with the fog. I love how you compose the heli with the bridge

BUSTED! lol and he ruined your shot too by flying into the middle of it! Nice levels here Roger, you can still see lots of detail in the background.

Wow! Oops is right and how did I missed this one! Great timing and capture! Great pov and dof with nice contrast. Very well done, tfs.

Hi Roger

Great moment you have caught in this scene.

Hi Roger, really moody with the fog swirling around yet still showing some of what lies beneath. Good show of scale with the helicopter looking small next to the bridge.Fiona

Hi Roger

It will be a double oops when the US government catches up with the pilot. Superb graphism with the bridge looming through the fog. It's illegal for a reason. In 1975, a ship crashed into the Tasman Bridge in Hobart Australia in thick fog.

Bom dia Roger,

Great job in BW with a bonus (the helicopter) and I agree with you: really a decisive moment.

Bom dia Roger
You create a fantastic scene full of beauty and mistery, his bridge is just for it self a hood photography moment but the add of fog and helicopter increase the dramatism of the scen as the b/w choice,
You are the best,

Hi Roger, bonsoir,
Excellent POV. and great shot with the mist and helicopter near the Golden Gate,
Excellent details in a sharp presentation in Black & White,
A great action caught of view.
well done.

A very moody image with the bonus of the helicopter appeariong in the shot. The position of the elements in the frame creates a dynamic composition. Excellent conversion with NIK Silver Efex.
Nicely Done.

PS: May ended up being very busy here so have not be on TL as much.
