This is the Cultural Center of Denver. The building on the left is the new Museum of Art.

I liked this view with the angles and colors. I used three shots one stop apart to create this fused image. The people walking created a lot of blurring and ghosting so I pasted in the lady on the left from one of the single shots and cleaned up the area around her so she looked natural. The fused technique is difficult for moving objects. Sometimes the ghosting can be eliminated but sometimes it is impossible. I think it depends quite a bit on the speed of the camera. The 5DII is only four frames per second so there is much more blur than with the faster 1D IV which is 10 frames per second.

It is not necessary to use a tripod for these shots. Photomatix can align the shots so well that hand holding is OK. With shots one stop apart you have to make sure that your slowest of the shots is still sharp though so set your ISO and Apertures so that your shutter speed is fast enough for the lens you are using. It is easier to use a wider lens for this type of work. With a 35mm lens I want to the Shutter Speed to be at least 1/35 second.

Good morning Roger, very attractive architecture well presented from an excellent POV. The light and shade adds to the 3D very well. I like including people for scale. Well done & TFS

Hi Roger

I know this place! Took a shot there.

And also the orange sculpture in the bg. Good sharpness & the people add scale & context. The giant dust pan & broom were near there too. Tfs!

I love how this looks! it has a very cool artistic architecture feel, almost like a watercolor. I like the way you got more of the sky, rather than more of the ground, or pathway here. Nice work Roger!

Hi Roger.

Such striking architecture, the points and lines are so pronounced, its feels a view of some futuristic town, its a complimentary angle used as we see people giving very good perspective. I'm not a lover of this type of building structure but know many are, very well taken Roger. TFS

Stv :0))

Hi Roger,I like all the varied geometric shapes, these buildings look very futuristic,it appears as if the people are walking into a movie set, their clothing doesn't quite match with the futuristic look of the area, but they sure give scale to the scene. Good PP work on the ghosting problem of the moving people.I think that just a tad more contrast would help,on my screen, the image looks a little flat.

Hi Roger,
A lovely composition with these architectural structures. Beautiful geometry and splendid lighting sharpening the edges of these buildings.
A considerable depth can be noticed in your presentation.
Very neat work.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello Roger,
I like the overall effect very much, the remarkable angles and shapes give a great deal of interest and impact.
I`m not totally happy about cutting off the ladies legs in the FG,but if it works for you that`s fine.
Great note.
All the best Les.

Very nice capture of the cultural center, I like the design of the buildings I don't know if they are functional but who cares. Good pov and dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.

Hello Roger, an excellent composition with a great PoV.The balance between the amount of sky and buildings is perfect imo.
It looks a fascinating place to visit. The people add life to the scene.
Thanks for the notes.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Modern architecture to its best, and this is a fine posting to admire it thoroughly, Roger!

Great POV and well kept DOF with amazing management of light and exposure.
The colors are original and clarity is nice.
Good job!

Kind regards,

bom dia roger
Good perspective and good lines. Interesting architecture and very well presented.
Um abraço

Looks a lot like Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum. Maybe because it's the same architect, Daniel Libeskind whom you don't mention (?)Unfortunately the cladding here looks wrinkled, like an unmade bed. In Toronto the covering is far more successful. I am surprised as to what happened here. It's a pleasant shot.
