I pass the Golden Gate Bridge when I drive down to Morgan Hill. Today the clouds were thick approaching the bridge so I turned off to the Marin Headlands. About two miles to the west the road was above the cloud layer and saw this view. I took three images one stop apart and put them into Photomatix. The result is better than any of the three images and more realistic in the way the scene looked.

I think it is wise to take multiple bracketed images one stop apart just in case there is a chance to put them together to make a more dynamic photograph.

Hi Roger,
This is surreal. The city appears to be floating on clouds and The Golden Gate bridge sticking up through the clouds is simply amazing. I don't there are many places in the world that you can get this type of photo.

Bonsoir Roger,

A classic, but you made it beautifully. There are superb texture in the clouds, extrem sharpness on the bridge and a nice feeling of depth with the BG cityscape. Composition is well balanced and the light is great. A lovely scene I wish I could also do one of these days. TFS.

And of course excellent HDR PP.

belle journée

Wow! Beautiful and almost heavenly! But this is what I expect San Fran to look like except when I visit never like this. I'd love the opportunity to take this shot, it would feel like being on top of the world. Nicely captured. Very well done, tfs.

I've seen a few pictures of the Golden Bridges in the "cloods", yet this one still impress. I guess, the weather has done good for you..)) The crop and composition of this image, is very good. Love the city skyline, that seems to float on the top of the cloods, and that portion of the bridge, emerging from them.

As most of your shots, technical skill are always omni-present. Fine colors, well detailled highlights, nice, deep and well saturated dark tones. Still the image is bright and luminous. Pastel sky, going from pale cyan, to pinkish tones. Tones of deep blue, almost purple in between the cloods...very nice spectrum of colors indeed.

A very pleasant image to look at.

Hi Roger

An awesome & classic view of the Golden Gate & San Francisco City looming through the fog. Fortunately I had clear weather from Marin Headlands. Great to see the Oakland Bay bridge in the bg too! Tfs!

Hi Roger,
This is an awesome shot of the clouds so low as if it is a shot from an airplane. Perfect exposure with such sharpness. The POV is excellent obtaining the skyline of high buildings just above the clouds and the upper part of the bridge visible as well to gain a considerable DOF into the perspective.
Very neat work and a great composition.
This joins my favorites!
