Mind the Gap
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Davenport, California is tiny little town that thousands drive past on their way down the famous Hwy 1 along the pacific coast. Unbeknownst to many, including myself until recently, is that Davenport boasts really interesting beaches that are screaming to be photographed due to their geological features and easy access. This image captures my first attempt at what many of the local photographers in this area call "the crack". It's a thin gap in the rock that continually takes in the approaching waves, funneling them through this small space. It makes for great exposures at sunset as you can see here. Thanks for looking.|

Very impressive capture, the eye catching line leads you in to your view. The slow expossure adds so much to the feel coupled with the superc colours and textures. Welldone TFS
Hi mike, I love this. If you crop off the sky it has the look of a mountain range with the crevice full of fog. Fiona

I am surprised this didn't get more points, for me its an outstanding shot, miles ahead of some of the stuff on TL. Beautiful soft tones in the sky, the F13 has given it great depth throughout the shot and the 1sec exposure is perfect for the rushing water, I must start getting up earlier and do more long exposure seascapes which are my favourite subject
