Spent the first week of November Yosemite Valley with my Dad searching for fall color. Many of the golden treasures we were searching for were past due. However, we were rewarded with about 4 inches of snow with the storm clearing out in the early morning hours. We hunted for reflections on the Merced river and came to this well known vantage point of the Three Brothers. Within 10 minutes this view had vanished with fog enveloping the scene.

A classic image of Yosemite Valley with incredable beauty, clarity, detail, and color. The almost perfect reflection and your choice of portrait composition enhances the feeling of height.
An absolutely outstanding image (Wish I could award more than 2 points)

Hello Mike,

fantastic capture of the morning mist and reflections! It has a majestic atmosphere with the warm lighting contrasting nicely with the frosty mist. I really like how the angles of the mountains are accented with the vertical composition. Awesome presentation for this masterpiece!

Hi Mike,
a spectacular shot, the sharpness of the reflection is quite something and the fog drifting through the valley really makes it special, though I would have preferred it without your "www"

Hi,spectacular scene,with light colors and sharpness all perfect.Friendly regards,Otto.

Hello Mike,

I've been to Yosemite & know all to well how quickly the weather can change there. Love this winter Christmas card scene. I was there in late November 2008 but didn't see any snow. Good sharpness, symmetry & reflections. Tfs!

Hello Mike

A masterpiece here presented before us. I have nothing to say but that I am in awe.....I do like the low clouds behind the trees with the awesome sunlight hitting the mountain sides. Pro work here

Hi Mik,
What a splendor of a great mood in this landscape shot! It really looks like a painting! A great reflection in the still mirror-like water. Nice clouds surrounding the mountains adorned with magical lighting.
A great POV and a very neat presentation.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Beautiful frosty photo, I like the misty mood and beautiful reflections

Hi Mike, this is a stunning shot with such a bright and clear reflection. The low clouds almost separate it into two shots with the snow covered trees and the sun on the mountains. Cold or not I wouldnt mind sitting there watching that view.Fiona

Hi Mike

Hi Mike..
Beautiful shot with so nice fog effects...
Great reflection...

Hi Mike ,
What a great picture ! Splendid , really ! Congratulations ... Ernest .

Hello Mike
A wonderful scenic shot captured with splendid reflection and clarity.

Oh, my heavenly days, what a shot!! Oh, my word. The lighting is just MAD good with it hitting the mountain tops and reflecting again in the water. Wonderful symmetry, beautiful clear color, mind boggling reflections, trees, fog, snow.. blue sky. What an awesome shot! My great compliments! Thanks for sharing this one,

Hi Mike,

I thought I was on the wrong site, this is lovely, perfect reflection and clarity, keep firing these beauties in. This would make a lovely large print.

Hello Mike,
Peaceful and harmonious.
Everything looks crisp here: the colors, the light, the contours of the trees and the mountains (the real ones and the reflected ones). And that is how it has to be, in my opinion, as that crispness really renders the feeling and the atmosphere of the first cold of winter and of the freshness of the snow.
I've already seen many photos of this place here on TL, but this one really grabbed my attention. You managed to "revisit" a classic, without looking for special effects by overdoing the colors.
TFS & kind regards,
