[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another photograph from the Forest Park Balloon Glow - it is from the very beginning, right before dusk when the balloon pilots were just starting to all fill their balloons with hot air.

This was shot on the periphery of the action, actually the first action I saw as I entered the area under the balloons. I was able to stop the light at an ideal point to keep the area of interest well exposed and the surroundings darker, almost vignetted. This scene belies the chaos that was ahead...

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

What an amazing colorful shot Reed! I would LOVE to be a part of this one day! We have a Balloner Fest at NASA, but now that it's been shut down, chances are slim...B-( Wonderful REDS!!

Hi Reed,
A very beautiful (almost magical) scene you've captured. Wonderful glow and color tones. Excellent details on this. Nicely composed. TFS Julie

Nice moody shot, Reed.

You've caught a good shot showing plenty of participation from the crew/passengers to be and like you say in the note, your exposure setting is perfect.

The partially inflated balloon on the left has great detail, and all together a very well handled colourful shot.

Nice work,

Martin

wow neat shot, such a great time to photograph, exposed and composed so well,
thanks,
scott

Hello Reed

I like the composition here. I am suprized all that red did not desaturate the grey sky. A perfect exposure. Very interesting
