[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I seem to be in a waterlily mode at the moment. This is another one taken at Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. However, this specimen was found indoors, in a temporary pond display in the Serpentine Room. The flowers and scenery in this room are changed seasonally.

Despite the more muted lighting of indoors I was able to use f/11 at 1/256 sec. and attain a reasonably sharp focus, although shooting from a distance. In PP: cropped, selectively sharpened and defined using the paintbrush tools, and added a vignette.

Lovely colours and a nice composition. gr8 perspective. regards.

What a superb closeup capture from a lovely waterlily with such amazing details, Sandy!
Great color contrast between the darker surroundings and a glowing flower.
A square format also suits well to the picture's charm.
The sharpness and POV are well done, and DOF is nicely maintained.
Great work!

Have a nice Sunday.

Thanks and regards,
Paras

Hi Sandy
Beautiful flower and nice presentation
regards

Beautiful capture of this waterlily, I love the colors. Good dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Beautiful shot Sandy!! Excellent sharpness on this! I always prefer the shallow DOF shots on flowers, even if it's just focusing on a pedal of the flower. You got a nice deep DOF on this, leaving the BG OOF...love that! Well done!

Hello Sandy

I like this view much better than the previous. The flower is well defined and sharp vivid colors. Well done on the composition.

Hi Sandy,
A perfectly focused waterlily with great use of shallow DOF.
Great diffused lighting rendering perfect even exposure. I like the dark BG contrasting marvelously with this dominant flower.
Well done for this neat work.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

The purple and green go very well together. The soft lighting helps to show off the nice detail. TFS
