One of my favorite flowers! I actually got TWO springs and a late fall in my 5 months of 2011 already. I left Texas brown, dry and hot...and went to Jamestown, LUSH and GREEN and early spring..... then came back to Texas and it was spring, we had some rain while we were gone... I'm confused... haha!

You are talking about the weather, when you left Texas?right Linda:-)
I like how you have captured the details in those red petals, not the easiest task for sure.I like your choice for placement of same in your composition, the row of the three main flowers make a great diagonal across the screen, giving a strong composition.

Lovely colours and interesting depth of field (if you'll forgive the pun). I like the way the poppies from bottom right to top left gradually fall out of focus.

Beautiful shot Linda. The color and detail is fantastic. Looks like the poppies are jumping out of the shot. Great dof and composition. This is so pretty and well done! Hope you enjoyed your trip. TFS, Lori

Dear Linda,

I have got 2 Springs in my 5 months of 2011 too, Linda, as I have been to India this year :)

What a beauty you have caught so efficiently in this Spring shot.
The details are awesome and focus on the flowers could not be better I think.
The colors are so natural and the red colored is so beautifully exposed.
A 3-D kind of work.

Amazing job!

My regards,
Paras

Hi Linda,
Fickle weather seem to be the new law in our Earth now! But, the beauty of poppies is the same! Really good composition with this red flowered diagonal. Love the silver tones of the buds making a nice contrast and the delicacy of the silky petals.
Superb image, my friend!

Hi Linda,
A nice diagonal line-up of these wild poppies adorned with splendid lighting and such sharpness.
Good shallow DOF while maintaining the FG flower in perfect sharpness and the others in a gradient manner!
Good artistic work.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Linda...this is nice...the orange and green tones work well. Nicely composed shot.

Linda,
Very nice color contrasts with fine details plus your angular POV creates a fine composition.
