Hello dear LORI, my TL neighbour today, thank you for this marvellous gift, a treasure indeed.
Yes,here he is, the wonderful macaw, what a beauty indeed. You photographed him perfectly, amazing colours, all details are clear to see, perfectly chosen the POV. And I love the eye of this charming Gelbbrustara.
and thank you for your wishes for my shoulder:-)

grt details lovely colours good dof
tfs regards bryan
Howdy Lori. Avery colourful bird here, captured with good sharpness and DOF.
If I may?
I think a portrait format would work better than landscape, and the BG, even though fairly plain has enough little bits to distract the viewer. Personally, I'd mask the bird and up the contrast on the BG to get it cleaner and brighter.
Just my take here ;-)

Nice shot of the Macaw with lovely detail and really vibrant colours, imo I think this would look better as a portrait shot cropping out some of the negative background and increasing contrast slightly. You have really caught the look of the bird beautifully though his character shows through. Best wishes
I really like the sharpness of color & of the details you have captured with this image,I noticed you had your zoom at 200mm rather than fully extended to 500mm & the sharpness compared to other images where you used the lens at its full 500mm without a tripod or beanbag, is really noticeable.I tried out the suggestions,in a WS, trying out DAvid's suggestions, though he would do them a lot better than I, for you to compare, let me know what you think of the changes, whether or not you agree with them.
Boa noite Lori,
Beautiful colors (of brazilian flag:))!
I did a WS and hope you like it!

a beautiful portrait picture of wonderful posed macaw,
his colorful figure is captured very well,
tone of colors and touch feeling of feathers are well expressed in this image,
and especially his eye is most unique here,
thank you for your excellent shot,

Beautiful and colorful one proud model you have here captured with good details and sharpness but if you cloud shoot it against darker BG would have given another look IMHO.
My Best Wishes

Apart from the OE in the background I really love this shot Lori!
Excellent, bright colors and good sharpness on the birdy...
Next time, try to put the object of your shot a bit off center... it would draw more attention that way, or take a portrait shot like David sugested!
