Good Morning. The bird today is a cattle egret, although in Kauai they are now referred to as tractor egrets since they no longer follow only cattle to get their fill of bugs. They have found that tractors and mowers kick up a more effective and plentiful food supply. I pulled into the Kapaia Stitchery parking lot and as I stepped out of the car this cutie was hiding in the grass. I followed him until I got an open shot. Hope you like him. Have a great day!

Hello Lori

A great shot here with the movement of the water. The browns in the water create excellent contrast. Nice pov on the bird.

Hi Lori,
A nice close-up of this cattle egret from the rear while the bird is showing us its face!
A nice bokeh BG with marvelous colors!
Not quite a sharp image but the ambient is magnificent.
Wel done,

Francis Xavier

nice work Lori good sharp details well captured
tfs regards bryan

Good shot of the bird though slightly not sharp on the head. I posted a workshop on this to show another composition.

Hi Lori,
Great photo of this egret. Such pretty birds. Nice patience in waiting. Nice control of whites- and good color tones. I did a small workshop. Let me know what you think. Julie

Hi Lori,

A nice closeup capture from lovely Egret!
The color contrast between the darkish waters and the bird, is amazing.
I would have gave the bird a stronger position within a natural frame, by placing it more to our right, leaving a bit of +ve space in the left part of the picture. Just an opinion!
Other than that, the picture has great sharpness and well management of light.
Good job!

Greetings,
Paras

Hi Lori...very artistic shot..perfect tones and composition...well done.

dear Lori,
its white feathers look so beautiful, and we can see delicate blue and pink on the shining white,
and its side looking figure is elegant too,
back blurred water is splendid to add charm to this egret,
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa
