[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photograph without flash is an approximation of how the early 17th Century Italian painter Caravaggio might have viewed Ciccolino resting comfortably on a recliner in the shadows of a darkened room while watching intently the work of the portrait photographer. I wanted only the forepart of Ciccolino to be visible in the portrait with the remainder blending into the chair in the darkness. Depending upon which browser platform this photograph is being viewed and browser settings, Ciccolino may be almost entirely enveloped in darkness [the intended effect] in a portrait that I like very, very much or he may be entirely visible to the viewer.
