Good Morning Everyone,

This shot was taken from the stern of the Queen Mary II, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The vastness of the sea, the smallness of the ship, by comparison, was almost overwhelming.

The captain informed us that land was two and a half miles away, straight down!

There is a strong tendancy for fog out here, where the Gulf Stream meets the cold water coming down from Iceland.

We saw occasional dolphin schools, and the odd bird, but not much wild life for such a large area.

Many thanks for stopping by, Bev :-)

Shot in RAW.
Converted with PSE6.
pp slight rotation and crop, added layer of soft light, little burning and dodging, sharpened, signed and added border.

Hi Bev,

Excellent perspective. While the ship is small in comparison to the ocean, the family looking over the stern provides perspective regarding the size of the ship. You've captured the massive wake nicely.

Hi Bev,

Love how you included the stern diagonally in this nautical composition. What more fun there is than to watch the waves formed from the back of QM II. I do like your tempered and precise pp work. I wish you well.

Bonjour Beverley,
Beautiful caught of back view from the QueenMary ll in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean,
Nice seascape and panorama view..
I like it..

Merhaba Beverley,
Alan derinliği ve bakış açısıyla güzel bir çalışma.
Farklı ve sıradışı.

A gorgeous shot Bev! How cool to take a trip like that! The water is so cold there, even in the summer! Nice sharpness and a beautiful light is casted over the ship! Well done!

Hi Bev!
Beautiful sharp picture. I like the POV. We can see the vastness of the sea and imagine the noise of the waves :)
Perfect sharpness and nice colours and shades of the sea.
Ciao! Vanda

Wow what an wonderful trip you must of had..on such a vast vessel..It must be totally amazing to be out in such a big ocean. This shot only captures a glimpse of the ship, but you can imagine how big it must be from the size of the people. Great shot Bev..love that green colour of the ocean.

Hi Beverly, Love your work. Just finished looking at your NY City photo and was looking at some of your other piecies. I recall looking at this one several days ago. Very Nice. I'm from NY (LI), having left the area in 78. Your mix of area photos sturr up memories. My uncle, Frank O Braynard was very much into Ocean Liners... Cofonder of South Street Seaport and organizer of Op Sail 76. Your work reminds me of him.

I'm adding you as a favorite.

Best regards,

Hello Beverly,
