[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the thermal features at West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. A wide angle lens was used at 12mm to take in as much of the pool as possible. I used a circular polarizer to cut reflection and get the most out of the colors in the water. I wanted to be able to see as much as possible down into the water.

Hi John - nice wide angle view, very sharp. Indeed - the CP has done a great job of boosting colour and killing the reflections..

Nice landscape, good interest.

Cheers
DAvid

Hi John,

This is a different and very interesting shot. The CP filter did a nice job with the reflections and the steam is well captured too.

Best regards,
Werner

Hello

L'effet de la brume qui s'échappe donne un charme fou à cette iamge, ce bleu avec le blanc qui s'envole, le sapin en fond, splendide compo.

merci et amitié

Hi John,
Excellent shot here with great mood. The wide angle with the mist really makes this dramatic. Well balanced composition, well done!

Hi John, It seems that I have yet another place to visit in the U.S.! My goodness, this looks fascinating. The intensity of the blue is amazing. I like the steam and mist amongst the trees too. Terrific job getting rid of the reflection in the water.

Hello John, a very effective use of the wide angle lens.As I look at your shot,it seems as if the steam is moving!
Your use of the polariser has certainly cut down on any reflection; it is fascinating to begin to see what lies below the surface.
This is one place that I would love to visit for real. Thanks for sharing.
Regards Jean.
