Hi Werner,
dragonflies are my big passion, yesterday I went outside to find some and I had luck to capture a few. Your shot is wonderful, I love the warm colours and the good sharpness.
A beautiful arrangement, thanks my friend, very well done. It's difficult to name yours, sorry, I realy don't know the ID of foreign dragons.

Hi Werner,

Really good pov of the dragonfly good colors and nice details the dof is good. A crop to the right may have produced a better photo imo.

Hi Werner,

A good shot of the dragonfly which I think was shot from quiet a distance but still managed to produce soft details on its facial features while its wings despite narrow POV is still in good focus,beautiful contrast BG with nice bokeh,I also shot some new bees and butterflies with D700 which will be posted in coming days my friend but still did not succeed to shoot the dragonfly :))

This is a wonderful macro capture from a dragonfly, with great details, Werner!

The sharpness is amazing and the clarity is superb. The focus is spot-on and the eyes of the dragonfly are very well shown. The bokeh is another great factor which makes this work powerful. Well spotted!

The pin sharp pattern and fine colour reproduction
makes this a treat to my eyes, and the insect
stands well on the contrasting green background...

Superb catch ans find my friend! Love the light here and the sharpness of the eyes is exquisite! Well managed Dof and good contrasty non distracting BG makes your main subject really pop out of the screen! If you really like to see what the 70-300 can do with macro like this check out the Kenko 3 tube set on Ebay. With these attached you will get some super magnification for very little money that will blow your mind. I got them a while ago and really got some amazing macro shots as it will let you focus a lot closer than 1.5 meters. Any way this is great work and thanks for sharing!

Great macro, Werner! Your patience always pays off when it comes to photographing wild life. Some may think it is a lucky shot, but you have proven time and again it is not!

A superb nature shot Werner. The green bokeh is fresh to the eyes and provides a good bg for showcasing the fast-flying dragonfly. It has been a while. Am still in China, my last leg of a very long trip. Cheers

Nice catch, I love the pose on top of that 'cute' branch as foreground and the green sunlighted hues of bokeh.
Also, the diagonal flow of the wings make the shot strong in compositional terms.
