This morning I visited Marshy Point Nature Center and explored a bit. This little gem is not far from my home, and is a wonderful place to commune with nature (yes Paras, plants and animals!!). There are several trails that wind through the marshes along two creeks off of the Chesapeake Bay. There is much plant and animal life to photograph and I imagine in a few weeks the place will be green and bustling with activity. This morning it was cold out (38 deg F), so there was not too much animal activity. I managed to get a few shots of an Osprey and adult Bald Eagle hunting for fish, and although they were far off, it was a real treat for me.

This bridge crosses the small creek, and basically takes one to another marshy section where trails are still being marked. I didn’t have boots on, so I couldn’t venture too far.

Because of the strong lighting this made an excellent candidate for HDR. I went for a slightly surreal look and am pleased with the way this turned out. I also cropped the photo and cloned out a post to the left. I deliberately left the small section of handrail to give perspective to the curving nature of the bridge. I use a GNU HDR program called Qtpfsqui. It has quite a few different modules one can use, and takes a bit of getting used to.

Thanks for viewing and have a great weekend.

HI Werner
Qtpfsqui. Try and pronounce it, what ever it does, it does well as this is normal looking and not the kind of hdr that is wild with colors and dark clouds.
Good reflections, sharpness it looks inviting, but not sure about the handrail, no doubt others will prove me wrong.

one word my friend excellent

Another striking capture where this diagonally positioned bridge (in the frame) gives perfect depth to the shot, Werner!

Great perspective, nice view, great mirror reflections and =perfect use of the daylight. Well done!

best regards,

Olá, Werner!

Hi Werner,
Good PoV and excellent composition, the reflection is great on the water, good natural colours and the bridge leading away from you takes you with it. Best wishes

Hello Werner ,
Beautiful site, peaceful environment with such lovely bridge, the reflection is amazing with accurate exposure you got a fine result, lucky you having such beautiful environment to makes photographic activities while the nature do their activities, superb pattern has been created with the bridge and its reflection, the trees in BG also makes a lovely texture, the bridge pipe to the left side of frame plays some how a role of creating depth, well captured and well done.

Happy Sunday :)

HI Werner, this is a fantastic bridge image, wonderful with all this reflection.

Regards Rose

A very nice view of this beautiful park with that interresting bridge and its reflection. Technically very good and well presented. Maybe I would have change my pov a bit to avoid the oof handrail at the left but it's not bothering me too much. A fine post my friend.

Hola Werner
Buen encuadre de este puente del parque natural ,buenas texturas y luz ,acertado color ,aunque no hubiesen muchos animales la vista vale la pena , felicidades

Buen trabajo
un saludo

Hello dear Werner!

Nice shot with good DOF and lovely details. Good light and exposure. What if you had included more of the railing as you have kept very little part of it in the corner, is little distracting.

TFS, indeed a good shot!

Best Regards,

Werner, I really like the composition you offer here of this bridge. One small criticism: Clone out the blue distraction in the lower left hand corner. I also like your B&W composition under this bridge. Looks like you had a great day up and down this water stream!
