Taken at Cedar Point, an enormous amusement park on the shore of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. According to its website, Cedar Point is the second oldest amusement park in the U.S., dating back to 1870.

This ride, the maXair, is quite striking because of it's huge scale, color and height. "Riders on the super-sized maXair will sit in outward-facing suspended seats and their legs will dangle freely. maXair will let loose by swinging riders back and forth in a seemingly out of control pendulum motion while spinning in a clockwise rotation and reaching a maximum speed of 70 mph. When the pendulum movement reaches its peak, riders will be 140 feet high and experience that coveted feeling of airtime."

Scares me just thinking about it!

Nice colourful capture. Wonder if a motion blur shot could have also been made.

TFS.

Hi Sandy,

looks like a giant flower and the legs are the petals, I think a lot of shorts will need to be changed after that ride. Good sharp details nice colours and great pov well done.

Hi Sandy,
A wonderful shot of this amusement ride with a thrilling emotion!
Beautiful colors and an interesting POV!
A nice composition which really seems a wild 'iron' flower!
The legs are creating an impact to the composition.
Well seen and presented.

HI Sandy..nice capture..unusual and well done.

WOW ! Sandy !!!!

Let's the party started !!!! Excellent and happy capture.
Amazing colors and great pov.
Very artistic and attractive result.

OMG, I can barely watch these kinds of rides, let alone be ON them!!!
I think this is really great Sandy. For one thing, the colors are vivid and bright, and it's very sharp. The comp is fantastic - perfect lead-in from bottom right.
I see that many have removed their shoes .. probably a wise idea. Did you take a turn on the ride?
Have a nice week
Trudy

Boah, crazy! I wouldn't dare to take a swing in that contraption...8-) I see some bare-footed people, wonder if they got in without shoes or did they lose them along the ride? ;-)

Nice, crisp shot!

Nathalie

Hi Sandy, as some of the others have said, it makes me a little woozy just to look at it. Really interesting shot, with only feet visible, and great clarity and color. Thanks, Dave

Hi Sandy,
A very colourful capture, great POV to catch the legs hanging over the edge! Looks like a lot of fun, certainly not something you'd want to do after lunch though! Lol. Great clarity and DOF, the blue sky provides a nice solid BG for it to stand out against. Well taken.

TFS,
Scott.

hello Sandy,

i love amusement park.. very sharp image you capture here.. just look at the different legs.. well composed with fine detail and sharpness.. good one..

greeting, terry

*i tried this once.. will i want to try it again? no.. no way.. scared me for life.. they call it Air Force 1 here.. before the ride i was so excited.. when i was up there i thought i was going to die.. my chest hurt so much like someone forced me to die.. hehe.. lots of peoples lost their mobile phones, wallets, slippers, etc.. some even throw up after the ride but not me.. only shaking and pale as ghost ^_^

Bonjour Sandy.
Urs

Excellent colours and bg A real action shot that fires the imagination TFS
warm regards
David

Hello Sandy
You have some impressive images in your gallery, the image is just so weird with all these hanging out everywhere. The star shape in the wheel is fantastic as is the comp colours and detail.
Well done and regards
Jim
