i know this colourful image was not the red hair and green eyes some were expecting.. the promised 'true colours revealed' shot is coming soon! i just haven't had much time or energy to work on pictures lately and i need to check those full colour shots on another computer before posting to make sure the colour balance isn't weird.. those who work with old laptop computers without the best screens will know what i mean!! but especially when you're a pale redhead like me you have to be extra careful as my fair complexion tends to reflect any colours in the room.. not helped by my handmade bright red satin curtains! sometimes my shots have come out with pink skin... ihih :-) mmmm gotta finally give in and take those curtains down.. very cool looking but bad for photography...

so here we have another riot of colour in the meantime.. probably my favourite colour of all! though i hate to choose only one... but everyone know i love purple :-)) and seeing as today i am FINALLY going to get out of my apartment for something other than a doctors or vets visit and go to a beautiful country house and garden for a photo excursion i thought i'd celebrate with a flower.. a bright beautiful passion flower ^_^

***

i put this together last night using a photo from the same series of oriental lily shots i used in previous 'painted flowers' (i posted the pre-processed image as a ws in case it would be of interest)

PP was as follows:
* cropped & resized
* applied a filter called 'bad dream' which is a favourite of mine to boost contrast and shadows and add some softness
* changed the colours to these pink & purple hues i so love
* applied a filter called 'radiance' which is similar to bad dream but a little softer
* then on selected areas of the background and petals i added some gentle angled brushstrokes to blend the colour and texture better
* finally framed and signed

hope you like it and wish me and my camera luck in the heat today! :-)

oh and before i go i just wanted to say sorry for having been even more absent than usual with my critiquing and responding this week.. i had to take a long tiring trip monday to chicago for some doctors visits and it kind of wiped me out for the week... but i'll try and catch up as quickly as i can! never think i've forgotten about you dear TL'ers ^_^

hugs to all,
Ayda

Hi Ayda,

I could not say anything else but that I like it. First of all it is a damn good processing full of colours and movement, second I love taking pictures of flowers, third lilies exert some fascination on me, why I do not know

great shot! wonderful subject and fantastic colours...very well PP worked.....you're great!

Hello Ayda... I am a fan of vivid pink... I do like the vivid colours in the compostion... Black background works well here to make whole composition stronger; I think this photo seems like a painting that could be a master piece on a wall...Thank you for sharing...

Well, this entirely isn't what I was expecting.. or rather: hoping for ;o). Still, it's a nice bunch of colours, Ayda. A "different" flower shot. Well, still wanna see you 'in colour' ;o). TFS.

Hi Ayda, hpe you are feeling better soon and can get out more.

The flower and PP is superb. I really like it. Purple is also my favorite colour. The filters you used worked out very well here.

Looking forward to seeing that irish complexion of yours ;-P

Lance

I like this personal version of your passion flower.... the colours you selected are so.... filling the image that seem to fill the black frame too....
well done

Amazing shot and excellent Pp work, "Bad dream" is one of my fav too... it just look soooo beautiful! Very well done... thanks for sharing. :)

Beautiful, flowing purples. You've done a great job with the processing, as usual.

Hope you have a wonderful day in the country! I don't know if I could live happily in a "big" city - I've got to have my "nature fix." :) It's good for the heart and spirit!

Take care,
Gayle

Shame on me ...
I missed this picture.
Such a beautiful composition, I enjoy the way you play with PP to create such an original work from a common subject. You mixed up my favourite colors .. :) TFS!
Congratulations.
