a beautiful action shot you have here, Bob.
i like the splashes the surfer's pose. perhaps a bit more space in front of him would be better.

Just a little more lighteningand you would have gotten a phenominal shot!
Quite a difficult light situation you had to deal with. Hard to control the contrast under those conditions. The surfer position, make his face go in the shadow area...the use of a polorizer filter could come handy, to open shadow area, but yet cut down luminosity in the highlights.
Still it's a interesting action shot.
Great action shot nicely composed and presented with great colors and sharpness. Excellent POV. and lovely details, very nice wave too..
