|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I was shooting a wedding recently and caught these guests enjoying the reception and adding some bubbles to the fun. |
I was using a bounce card on my flash, which did a fairly good job of directing some of the light forward and some toward the white ceiling, which illuminated the girls nicely, and did a decent job of bringing out the bubbles on a complex background.

I must say the light on the two ladies is good !
Do like the composition also but with a " but " ( IMO ) :
the link between theh bubbles and the woman don't get enough attention because they pop out.
The reason why for me is the DOF : the rest of the party in the BG is cleary playing along.
Strange because you used a f/3.5. Would expect less sharpness.
How to fix it ?
" Put your money where you mouth is " is the expression I believe ? :-)
- Take another POV where the BG players ain't so close
- Don't bring all your money to a bank but play it save :
invest it in several photo dealers, like I did,
and go for f/2.8 glass ... :-(
- I read about using the " second " curtain when using a flash.
Less flash light needed because you get more existing
light inside. Maybe ( ? )more room to play.
It's on my " to do " list too ...
These are just my " buts " for the technical side
but I imaging that when you deliver this one
you'll have at least two who'll say
" oh great - thanks !! "
That's what counts IMO
not my " but "
I do wish you a happy 2009 Robert
TFS and see you later
Have you ever heard that song, "I'm forever blowing bubbles"? I haven't heard or thought of it for about 40 years, but this photo reminds of that song.
I think these women made a good choice for this kind of celebration.
