[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a very busy month at work, I am back. Just gat home from a Labor Day weekend trip to Flagstaff, Arizona. The first day there we climbed Humphrey's Peak, the hightest point in Arizona at 12,633 Ft. The trail is 4.8 miles one-way.

We were going to backpack into the Kachina Wilderness Area on Sunday for an overnighter, but the weather was pretty nasty, thunderstorms and all. So we drove to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and got some shots of the storms there.

Hi David,I'm always impressed by these trees that seem to sprout from the rock itself & manage to survive this type of harsh environment.I like the mood or atmosphere,I prefer mood
but never know which is right? Details & composition are very strong & the fog or mist has perfect colouring.

Hi David,
This photo really gave me the WOW effect. Those trees look wonderful positioned on thsi huge rock against the foggy sky. It makes them look like miniature trees. This photo has a very lovely serene feel to it. The fact that you included part of the otherside of the canyon and one more tree in the fog adds to the secluded feel.
TFS,
Niek

Hello David, great shot full of atmosphere.
The swirling cloud and the two trees standing on guard.
I like the detail of the rocks and just a hint of the canyon in the bg.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Welcome back David
beautifull and amazing shot.
all my compliments

Hi David
Hello .. Amazing POV. Amazing composition. Nice light and colors. Great effect.

David,

This one, with the view almost completely obscured, works best for me. Probably this is due to the canyon having been shot a million million times before under more "perfect" lighting conditions. A different approach works better if you can't match the "pro" views.

Even a big drop, is not as big as a drop you can't see!

Regards
Colin

Excellent shot, with stunning light through the clouds, creating a beautiful delicate backdrop in your well managed composition. Nature's harshness and softness are in amazing balance here, and you have captured that power as well as a good image. Nice work!
