A Redwing blackbird I captured while walking a country road on my trip to the St. Marys River in Van Wert Co. I have wanted to capture this bird for a long time. They are pretty alusive & prefer the country side along roads. You spot them on power lines along the roads. I remember seeing them when I was young along the rairoad tracks sitting on the telegraph wires. They were thick along this road but always seemed to stay far enough ahead of me, moving as I walked, to get a really great photo. I shot at least 50 shots in the burst mode hand held. This is the best I got, most all had limbs blocking part of the bird, almost like they were doing it on purpose! You can see two limbs intruding here but I got the best detail of the bird on this one. In over 30 yrs I have never seen one in my backyard but wouldn't you know several days after shooting this I was sitting out back & one flew into my yard. I did not have my camera ready!! Hope all enjoy. Don

Hi Don,
Finally you are the winner: you succeded to capture one. They can't win against your camera. Sorry you didn't have your camera to catch the one who visited you in the backyard.
Excellent POV, specially that you had to do it in a burst. Great sharpness and colors in a very good choice of frame. Congratulations well done. TFS

You are right abot these birds. They tend to stay away from houses. We see some over here in the fields. but not around te houses.
