Thought I would take a break from portraits for a little while...

I came across this place while travelling back from a DMB concert at the Gorge in Washington state. Driving back down Hwy 97 I came across a plethora of abandoned and ruined buildings near a town called Grass Valley. I didnt have time that day to find out why so many of them were abandoned and left to the elements....its sad to see such history just becoming lost.

This particular building seemed to be an old diner of sorts, thru another set of long windows I could see the pump seats at the counter and some sort of kitchen towards the back. This restroom was towards the left of the 'diner'. I shot many photos of these buildings, but to me this ended up with the most interesting result. It was shot thru the screen and window pane, I did use a flash, I think that is why the glass seems so bright.

Originally shot in color, I converted it to b&w, It seemed to me to be much more moodier that way....

As always, thanks for your comments and critiques in advance!

Hola Sofia:

Buen trabajo.

Un saludo, Sara.
