How beautiful in all its almost monochrome glory and what an impressive photograph to start out with. The snow is not bright white which is an advantage as this delicate gray adds to the overall effect. The focus is on the grouse (where it should be) and the out of focus background plants add texture without detracting from the main image. My only suggestion would be to put a small frame on it. Welcome to Treklens!

Welcome to TE. Good photo of this sage grouse. It looks very much at home in that environment.

I'm with Lois all the way, including the suggestion of a frame (If you want to know how to do it - please reply and I'll show you a VERY easy way).
In addition, I would suggest that you remember the most basic rule of composition - the Rule of Thirds. If you are unclear on that, again reply and I'll provide the info.
Welcome to the madhouse!

bonjour cody
c'est un coup de chance d'avoir pu photographier ce faisant.
bon coup d'oeil.j'ai proposť ma version dans l'atelier.

Hi Cody,
Welcome to TL. I'm impressed that you were able to get so many shots of this beautiful bird without spooking him off. Looks like you had to endure some pretty harsh conditions to get this shot. Colors and lighting make this really nice to look at. Composition a little awkward. Overall picture would probably look alot better if the subject wasn't right in the center. Picture is still really nice.
Good job.
