[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Gibson Resevoir is where the water of the Sun River is stored for the vast irrigation system of the Teton County Area. The Resevoir is located Lewis and Clark National Forrest close to the Continental Divide.

This photo was taken from the top of one of the hills surrounding the resevoir. I don't have to start writing about the spectacular climb up the hill, because you could just do it by car and park in the huge parking lot. The weather that day wasn't really beautiful and more clouds gathered over the mountains, hence the grey-ish sky.

Hi Niek,
Even if there was no sun this day, I think this is well lightned. I love this amazing POV. This is a great DOF and very good composition (I like this yellow flower) and the details are clean and sharp. Well done again! TFS,

Nice composition, Niek. I like the fg flower and rocks at the bottom. You put all the elements together well. Too bad about the overvcast because a little more light would add better color and definition to some of the elements. But c'est la vie!

Beautiful scene. I'm going to attempt to post this to a workshop - new to this - hope it works.

Mooie foto, Niek.
Inderdaad de bloem op de voorgrond en de rotsen geven de foto een enorme diepte, maar wat mij erg aanspreekt is de bijna grafische omlijning van het meer, gevormd door de kleine strandjes.
Prachtig scherp tot in de verte.

merhaba niek

Hello Niek,
Despite the grey mood, the composition is still great. Neat and crisp image . Well done .
:) will follow soon

Hi,Niek!Great shot!Wonderful landscape picture! I like stones and a yellow flower in the front! Regards. Yuri.

A nice, clear view with good colour. I like the small flower in the foreground that I only noticed after I did a little visual exploring.

Wery beautifull place. This looks just like those places in the world that I want to travel some day :). I like the frame to that it's wider on the upper and lower parts. Just beautifull, TFS.

Hello Niek, this landscape is superb and very well taken. Love the inclusion of the stones in the fg with the yellow flowers, The rich colours on the stones and the nice view on the lake enclosed by the mountains.

Good sharpness through out.

Great work! Yan :)

p.s.: many thx for your review on "Full Moon on Ottawa". It's always nice to see you in my gallery :)

Hoi Niek,

I like the rocks at the foreground leading my viewer's sight to the river.Good composition!I see the blue sky,but the water is gray that it seems to be rain soon.Very interesting!

Hi Niek,
This makes me want to book a trip to Montana right now. Lovely landscape and a splendid view. Nice capture ! TFS Julie

Very nice view of this reservoir, Niek. Nicely composed withe nice elements that really show us the beauty of this place and well worth the climb. Very interesting light as well. Excellent!

P.S. I have missed quite a few pictures from your Summer vacation but I have been too busy lately to be on TL very often...I will try to catch-up later on but then again we are leaving soon for our vacations in this area of the world. I certainly hope I come back with as beautiful pictures as the ones you came back with!

Hi Niek,
This is a beautiful composition. I like how the reservoir is leading our eyes around to see all these beautiful mountains. The lonesome flower in the foreground complete that composition very well. TFS

Thank you for sharing
bye Aga

Wat kalm en mooi
Een prachtige natuur foto
De gele bloem maakt het af
Het rood in de steen help ook nog

Hello Niek,
What is appealing here is the strong foreground interest! The sense of depth created is great...
Next the beautiful scenery attracts attention, the lake situated between the forest clad hills is a most attractive view!

:-) OK-

Hi Niek, beautiful mountain shot. Soft earthy colors and nice POV. TFS

Didn't see this one when you posted it, but it was one of the featured photo's on the TL home page today and I just love it. I don't suppose that there is anything I could say about this picture at this point that hasn't already beed said, but I think it's the most awesome landscape photo I've seen in quite some time. Looks like it should belong in a Montana Department of Tourism brochure. I looked and looked... and there is absolutely nothing about this photo that I found to be troubling. Congrats on a great shot! Terry

Hi Niek,
Wonderful POV looking down from this well earned high perch to look down on this unspoiled resevoir that is wonderfully linned by high elevation evergreen trees.
Love the twin wild flowers in the foreground.
Regards, Tom
