Pelicans are a genus of large water birds comprising the family Pelecanidae. They are characterised by a long beak and large throat pouch used in catching prey and draining water from the scooped up contents before swallowing. They have predominantly pale plumage, the exceptions being the Brown and Peruvian Pelicans. The bills, pouches and bare facial skin of all species become brightly coloured before the breeding season. Hello Eleu, flight yet again??
An excellent shot of the pelican; I like the way that parts of its' body and wings are highlighted in the sunshine, giving us detail.
The feathers at the end of the wings seem to be moving which adds to the composition.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Eleu,
A fine pelican in flight. Perfect lighting and precise details in its wings spread and plumage.
A beautiful blue sky.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Visions of seeing a creature way back in time...A Jurassic Period.

Hi Eleu
A well taken shot that has nice detail.
I did wonder whether having the bird at a greater angle would make the image a bit more dynamic. I hope you don't mind, but I've done a workshop to test my theory.
