[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The threadfin butterflyfish, Chaetodon auriga, is a species of butterflyfish (family Chaetodontidae).
Chaetodon auriga is found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea and eastern Africa (south to Mossel Bay, South Africa) to the Hawaiian, Marquesas and Ducie islands, north to southern Japan, south to Lord Howe Island and Rapa Iti, at depths of 1–35 metres (3–115 ft). Chaetodon auriga is up to 23 centimetres (9 in) long. It has a neck patch of ascending and a belly patch of descending oblique dark lines. Two subspecies are sometimes recognised: Chaetodon auriga auriga occurs in the Red Sea population and lacks the dorsal eyespot; Chaetodon auriga setifer is the spotted population occurring outside the Red Sea. Nice shot of this butterfly fish. Good clear colour and markings. Not always easy shooting through glass.

Hi Eleu,

The fish is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the threadfin butterflyfish. The surrounding light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Ciao Eleu

If I did a lot of snorkeling, then I would seriously have to look at an underwater salt resistant camera. Haven't done much snorkelling since I was at El Nido in Palawan and this is the type of scene I often saw. Also saw 2 b&w sea snakes! Good they can recreate this scene in a major city! Tfs!
