[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This black and white portrait of Kenneth will be one of the last on TrekLens...please join me on Facebook where I will be posting photos from now on.

Thank you all for your support and great feedback. This site has taught me a lot about photography techniques and has been a great place to bounce ideas back and forth.

A fine portrait Roger, it has a timeless quality to it.

Dramatic lighting and fine detail.

I shall miss seeing your posts...I've never mastered FaceBook.

All the best to you,

Hi Roger,
Too bad you're leaving Treklens...
I don't have a Facebook page and don't expect to in the short future. Anyway I don't think they handle photos very well, adding too much compression.
Why don't you try out http://www.fotocommunity.com/ ?
The portrait is dark in every way, like a premonition of death, and your model has no eyes. Funny way to say goodbye, perhaps you are saying something else too?
Best regards,

A face on show to read and to respect.

Hi Roger, It is sad to see you leaving TL.....I guess you have your reason for that. What I can say is that you had inspired me so much on how to take a good portrait and I have learnt a lot from looking at your photo gallery too. Thank again and all the best for you in the days ahead. Your friend Kenneth looks uneasy too in this portrait....may be you chose this one intentionally to say Good Bye to the members. Best regards

Hello Roger,
You are one of the photographers who uploaded meaningful images with good technical information here. I will be missing that but will have a look at your work on Facebook.

This is a very powerful image that succeeds in evoking emotions like empathy and sadness at the relentless advancement of time. Very good work indeed.

Hi Roger,
I have only recently started posting again on TL after a few months absence (holidays and grand kids) and I wondered where you had gone.

I have often wondered why you continued to post here when so many good photographers have left, I looked at my favourite list and only 2 of 20 are left.

You were the only real photographer on the site and your portrait work was outstanding ( as in this post) - so thank you and all the best, sorry I won't be following you on Facebook, it's not for me
Best regards

Hello Roger! Amazing portrait. Wonderful old man. Excellent black background. Fantastic exposure, capture and cut. Great effect. Good luck!
