[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The pattern of light that Rembrandt used comes from a light source above and to camera right or left at a 45 degree angle so as to give a triangle of light on the dark side of the face and a nose shadow that comes down at the same angle.

This pattern is very flattering for portraits and is seen in fine art and even TV shows like "The Game of Thrones". There is mystery in having shadows like this.

For most of my portraits I use about 100mm focal length (Canon) or 150mm for the medium format. This focal length compresses the facial features slightly.

Beautiful portrait, Nice light and like it in BW,

I don't think it matters how you light her, she is beautiful! But indeed good lighting and nice contrast. Well done, tfs.

Bom dia Roger,
The light rests gently over face and hair and reveals extraordinary textures.

Hi Roger

As I've said before, I'm far from an expert and can only offer a humble opinion. As far as I can see, perfect.

Hi Roger,
A perfect demonstration and a very flattering portrait.
The best of all is that it looks so natural.
I love the fine textures of the skin and hair patterns.
A great work.

I think this is a well done portrait, with regard to framing, lighting and facial details.
