|This is the newest American warship that recently paid a visit to Key West over Christmas. I heard about it on the local radio and it was berthed behind one of the Disney Cruiser Liners in the harbour - both were gigantic hunks of metal - I wondered how such Leviathans could stay afloat.|
Anyway, the warship sailed out of Key West heading west - we were on a small pier watching a couple of fishermen trying to net some tiddlers when I saw the ship on the horizon.
One of the fishermen had a wheelchair that braced a number of fishing rods and a large US flag. I used the flag as foreground interest along with some shoreline rocks to frame the Leviathan as it sailed off into the distance.
The image had a little PS work done - I cloned out the fishing rods that peered out from the very top of the US flag across the skyline. The ship was slightly smaller on the image, so I've enlarged it slightly.
