As I've mentioned, the weather here is just totally uninspiring so that just leaves me portraits to practice on. So I dragged this one away from the computer and forced him to sit for pictures. He's not my most willing subject, but I threaten to beat him if he doesn't. :)))

It was cloudy outside and I wanted to see how that affected portraits. It seemed the lighting wouldn't be so harsh and they wouldn't have to squint at the light. I did some levels work on this and blurred the BG a bit to avoid distractions. By this time he was ready to stop humoring me and get back to his own pursuits.

Look at those ROSY cheeks!! Adorable kid, kinda looks like he is thinking of his next trouble he can get into! This is Super Sharp Shelly (SSS) say that three times fast! I like that he is looking off in the distance. Awww, give the kid some candy!! He did a good job and so did you!

Hi Shelly, nice portrait of your unwilling participant. I like the light - there's maybe a slight yellowish hue to his skin, but still - nice and sharp, nice eye contact, nice warm expression. Great job Shelly.
(someone else is watching from a safe distance? :)

Hi Shelly
That frown says it all, I think you would have been in trouble if kept too long away from the pc.
Nice rosy cheeks and sporting the new haircut, I think you did a great job.

Cheers,Braca

I understand perfectly when you said that he does not like to pose for you. I have the same problem with my grandchildren. LOL But I am glad you got him, because you have made a wonderful portrait of him. The background on the left side could be a little distracting, but with his expressive eyes and kind smile makes me smile back to him. Beautiful natural colors.
