Well, our weather is absolute YUCK and looks to be that way until next Saturday, so I have to content myself with practicing portraits and using inside light.

Last night was haircut night. My daughter cuts the boys hair (and her own) and it's always an event. For some reason the clippers weren't (ahem) 'cutting it' (groan) so she was having to use scissors. I don't know who it's the bigger pain for - her, or the victims...LOL

Hi Shelly,
Very impressive daily life photo I would say... You captured the right moment, excellent timing. Technically you used the internal light very well, perfect DOF and sharpness on the head of the kid. Original photo, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

What a GREAT fun shot Shelly!! My daughter could make some really funny yuk faces too! This is adorable! Nice work on the quality here! Every kids nightmare! So funny!
B-)

Haha, I remember dreading haircuts myself as a kid, so this is something I know well.

Nice capture of epxression, excellent sharpness and detail with such a slow shutter and long focal length, and perfect focus with that wide aperture.

Great job

Perfect focus, very good picture!
Good detail and nice colours!
Best regards!

This is great! Eyes closed, wrinkles on his nose, and the entire expression is priceless. I like the coloring you used too. Great portrait! Lisa

HI Shelly
At least he is not crying like they do for a first one.
Love the expression. You are doing really well with portraits something I have yet to try.
Dot

AH Shelly , the kid sure wants no hair in his eyes though he could have some slip inside his sweet mouth ,lol. A nice capture here , so sharp on the boy's face i feel i am standing right behind his Mom there .You 're doing fine Mom , hi. Cool job from all of you !
Carol

The only thing missing is the bowl on his head to get the fringe right :-)

A well captured candid shot, you must have a steady hand shooting at 1/25 and like the shallow depth of field.

Nice one.

Peter

Oh, Shelly, this did make me laugh!
It reminds me so much of when my daughter was young, brushing hair and cutting hair were events akin to ww2 in emotion!

A great portrait capturing the emotion to perfection. (One for the family album ... to share with prospective girlfriends!)

I like the way your daughter's head and arm frame the shot.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Shelly,
This pose is very well captured and funny too. The small aperture is tricky though, but you managed it well, the victim's face is sharp while the arm of the perpetrator is blurred creating a nice and special effect which I like. Fine posting Shelly!

Bonjour Shelly
Je vois que les enfants us sont autant malheureux qu'en France(-:
