[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my 'cave series' that I'm doing before I return to a few more hiking shots. This is called Linville Cavern in Linville, NC. This cave formation is a stalactite (the 'c' in the word always means the ceiling--one on the cave floor is a stalagmite and use the 'g' to indicate ground).

Now when looking at this can you find the bride and groom on the mantelpiece? Oh, yes, a very special time. Uh-oh, do you see the big gorilla King Kong with the baseball hat looking at his 'miniatures?' LOL.

PP-No cropping or sizing, just sharpening as I got what I wanted here.

Hi Gary,
Nice textures..nice soft colours
Best regards,

Hi Gary,
Nice sharp capture of this cave. Always funny the discriptions they give at the stalactites and stalagmites. (To remember here in Holand what a is standing upo and what is hanging you only have to remember the three letters after the 'c'in the word stalactite and you know enough. They have the same habit here in Europe to give the figure funny names. I like your note as well. TFS.

Nice shot - I can appreciate how difficult taking pictures in caves can be :-) I look forward to seeing the rest of your series
Thanks for sharing

Fine shot Gary considering how hard it is to get all the formations as clear as this under the light conditions. Good notes. Perfect detail. TFS,
Many thanks for your comment on
River Majesty

The tree you referred to is a wattle, a prolific flowerer during late winter and spring and there are many varieties with flowers from a pale almost white yellow through to yellow/orange.

Great work Gary. I take it you are not claustrophobic?

Hi Gary!
I've been always fascinated by cave beauty. Yours photo is an excellent picture of the underground beauty. Beautiful colored forms are interesting. But you cannot expect us finding those figures without somebody pointing on the place... Expecting more shots in the future with a closer look on the bride&groom and other figures.

I like it. My eyes kept looking in the center. Eerie view. but very interesting.

Hi Gary,
Nice shot. I don't think that this one was easy to make. You did well. Only problem is I don't get a sense of size and scale. But that is just a minor thing. Well done.

There are some parts of the photo wich seem alive, well done.
