[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of my favorite photos from the cemetery that Tricia Treen and I visited. There were graves in this cemetery from the 1600's. It was a pretty cloudy dreary morning and so my shutter speed was pretty low for this one. I also lowered brightness further in post-processing and convered to sepia. This was AFTER I did an HDR on the shot to level out the tones.
Hope you all have a great day!
B-)

Hi Linda,

This is spooky, ghostly, and theatrical. I have no complains with the composition, the b&w rendition as well as your pp workflow is exact and precise in rendering a moody image. Best regards.

Danilo

Hi Linda,
I love the mood in this photo. It has a mix of romance and death silence. The composition with the path leading the eye is wonderful and gives good depth to the photo. The path also brings the eye perfectly to the bright distant sky. If you didn't mentioned that it was a sephia, I would not have know. I think the sephia effect can be a bit stronger. But I like this as well.
TFS,
Niek

Top work Linda!! Really eerie effect you've managed. Nice POV and composition too!!

Missed this theme - only got home from Melbourne a few hours ago and feeling zombie-like... In fact I think I've just emerged from the tomb at bottom right there ;-0

Cheers
DAvid

HI Linda
Great atmosphere coming out of this shot. I particularly like light on some of the stones, drawing attention the contrating deep shadows
Good pp job.

Hi Linda

I used to live next door to the Toowong cemetary in Brisbane, one of the biggest in Australia, and thought what a waste of space it was, in such a densely settled urban area. Open spaces should be for the living. But nodody thought Brisbane would grow from a small country town of a few hundred people, in the late 1820's, to a city of 2 million today. I guess I'd prefer to be cremated, when my time comes. I like the patriotic touch of the 2 US flags, in this moody b&w image. Good tonal range & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Linda

Great theater-like picture. The diagonal of composition is very well managed and the b&w effect gives a historical mood to whole image.

very well done.

Hi Linda,

This is an eerie shot of the cemetery, I like how you've captured the curvature of the path as it winds toward the light. Your PP work is superb.

Warm regards,
Werner

If there is a mood to a cemeterey, you caught it with this image Linda. I like the light, shadows, sepia & the light @ the end of the darkness.

Hello Linda,

Your pp work has really added 'atmosphere' to this shot!
The pov is very well judged.
The gravestones take on the impression of lonely souls, marching upwards to the light at the top of the hill. Certainly analogous.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Very nice PP work!

Super POV.
B & W the best choice.

Linda
une bonne composition et un choix de noir et blanc qui donnent une atmosphère un peu lugubre qui convient à ce lieu. J'aime aussi la note d'espoir apportée par la zone de lumière en arrière plan.
Amicalement

Hi, Linda -
Amazing mood, very heavy and full of atmosphere. The deep shadows, mist and light in the distance really set this up well. Great POV from under the trees looking along this path. Sharp despite the slow shutter speed, with a touch of moody softness. Excellent!

Bonjour Linda,

Nice contribution to the theme and of course thanks for submitting it. The ambiance is very dramatic and the B&W treatment add to this ambiance. Nice work and TFS.

Hi Linda,
brrrrr, a mystic place ...
I like the darkness and the brightness in the back - seems to be the "Exit" to escape this place ...
Thanks

a Manipulation Majeur that give really an impressive shoot;
just some light at the end from the way but a lot of sadness here and the american-flags giving some more... (ware deads?)

Linda,

Seems like someone placed a cemetery along a trail! I like this shot because the light "painting" the tumb stone on the right hand side and also the intense light coming from the background.
It gives the entire atmosphere.

Nice PP work.

Wish you a great week,
Wellington

Hi Linda,
Happy to be online today! The last weekend, my PC has infected with a vicious threat and it out of service for the next days. I don't able to go in my files, so I don't ! able to post the Friday's theme photo I had! :(
I can use an other labtop for the essential needs only!

Your photo has a very dramatic mood! Very scary!I especially like the composition with the path snaking between the tumbs and the effective sepia treatment you applied.
BRAVO!
Have a nice week!
Annie

Hi Linda,
Almost missed this picture, that would be a shame. Great Black&White impression. You captured very the almost depressive mood here. Excellent low light and soft contrast. Great tribute to the theme!
